North America

Why North America?

This trip, with family, was part of a global approach. From a simple desire at the beginning, we expanded our horizon to make it a useful and coherent project.

I have been involved for 25 years now in the design, management, maintenance of living gardens, pruning and care of trees as well as the enhancement of wood. With the creation of “Gardens of tomorrow“, I have put my deep convictions at the service of soil life and ecosystems. Often labeled as “environmentalists” in my beginnings, today people call because they are looking for this vision and this benevolent look at the living. I have often had the opportunity to confront different situations and experiment with a range of gardening techniques and landscaping. Agro-ecology and permaculture have been valuable tools for me to adapt projects to the different conditions encountered. Today the company, which has become a SCOP, is able to offer living, robust and resilient gardens, much less sensitive to climate hazards. But what the IPCC projects for the coming decades forces us to push our thoughts further and imposes on us a questioning.

In this period of profound changes, we are facing great challenges to maintain our sustainable activity and contribute to ensuring that our projects are always more adapted.

Voyage de Mai à Août 2024

The United States is facing, like most countries in the world, climate change. Some states more than others, with a significant acceleration. The size of the country, the diversity of climates and socio-economic contexts offer opportunities for observation and very varied situations.

It is in this state of mind, both curiosity, research and sharing, that we embarked on this journey and went to meet the actors of horticulture, gardening and landscaping in the United States.

This website is the continuation of this project, and the first articles are the result of our meetings and escapades in this immense country. Other more local topics will also be addressed soon, but as we speak, the United States is facing one of the most serious democratic crises in its history. The messages and images we receive through certain media are very far from representing all North Americans and what they experience on a daily basis. It seemed important to me to start this series of articles to highlight these people met.
