Ecological Landscape Alliance-Alliance of Eco-Landscapers

ELA is an association created in 1993 by a group of landscape and horticulture actors concerned with environmental problems. Their goal was and is always to promote a sustainable and ecological approach to the creation and maintenance of parks and gardens.

Through these missions, the association wishes to educate and inspire all actors in horticulture, and allow access to sustainable and respectful practices.

The association carries out its actions based on values that guide it daily:

– curiosity: commitment to preserve and improve the health of our living landscapes through exploration and learning;

– credibility: promoting ecological practices based on science, research and cultural knowledge;

– community: building links to expand the community and amplify our impact;

– inclusiveness: with intent and fairness we commit ourselves to facilitating the diversity of perspectives, solutions and experiences;

– respect: we honour the beauty and values of natural systems, design and ecological practices.

The association's representatives and volunteers are of very different origin, which allows for interdisciplinaryness. Members of the Board of Directors and members can meet with arbores, environmental activists, teachers, engineers, gardeners, landscape architects, landscape entrepreneurs, scientists, park curators, botanical gardens and community agents. A very rich panel that allows you to overcome corporate problems and act with a common goal for all professions.

What is also very interesting is that knowledge is not a descendant of an exclusively academic milieu but also comes from land profiles.

ELA also provides its members with access to documentation and webinars throughout the year. Members may volunteer if they wish to share work, project or research in progress.

Professional members are referred to the association's website with their specialties. It was also thanks to this list that I was able to contact some of them to meet them.
